How does Vaanster calculate rates?

How does Vaanster calculate rates?

Your rate consists of a fixed component and a variable component. The fixed rate is charged regardless of your consumption, such as the connection fee. The variable rate depends on how much heat you actually use. The rates that apply to you are set out in your supply agreement, which outlines the pricing terms we are committed to.

Every year, we review and update our rates based on factors such as our total costs, investments in heat supply, and general price trends in the Netherlands. For rates covered by the Heat Act, we benchmark these annually against the statutory maximum rates set by the Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM). The ACM uses the 'no-more-than-otherwise' principle, meaning you will never pay more for heat than a comparable household using a gas-fired central heating boiler.

Around mid-December, you will receive a personal notification with your rates effective 1 January. Your current rate schedule and supply agreement are always available in your personal account at Mijn Vaanster.
